Alison T's Recovery Story

Alison became ill with ME CFS when she restarted her nursing career - and was ill for 20 years. Here she shares her recovery journey and what helped and what didn't work for her. For many years she continued to try to push through work as her GP had no reference for how to manage ME CFS, and it wasn't until she was able to leave her job that she could take some time to look at what contributed to the chronic illness and where to go next. Alison explored many avenues to see how to feel a little better. After becoming desperate and trying many mental health practices, Alison regained a sense of purpose and joy in life but was still very physically ill, confirming that mental health issues were definitely not the source of her illness.Alison then found Alex's book, "Why M.E.? My Journey from ME to Health and Happiness" at a bookstore and began work with The Optimum Health Clinic. She shares her candid scepticism along the recovery journey, and that recovering from ME CFS has also significantly improved her type 1 Diabetes.Once Alison started working with The Optimum Health Clinic she fully recovered in less than 18 months.
